As part of the consortium Reimagining Victims Reparation, Nicole Immler and Siri Driessen attend this third international workshop which brings together scholars, practitioners, and activists to rethink reparations for victims of serious human rights violations. Moving beyond traditional, legalistic approaches, the event centers victims’ own perspectives, needs, and initiatives. With a focus on the Global South, we explore how concepts like dignity, empathy, recognition, and transformative justice can inform more inclusive and meaningful reparative practices—both within institutions and through grassroots efforts.
