This summer Niké Wentholt and Nicole Immler organize a summer school with lectures, interactive seminars and an excursion to The Hague, as part of Utrecht Summer School program. Its specific focus: Turning Interdisciplinary Research into Practice.

Transitional justice and human rights are booming fields in research and practice but face huge global threats. We will present the idea of ‘transformative justice’: a new agenda for transitional justice practice that combines a bottom-up approach, focusing on lived realities, agency and participation of victimized people/groups, with an understanding of institutional logics of injustice. The course will teach participants through lectures, interactive seminars, and an excursion to operationalize concepts and tools of these fields for both research and practice.
